Terms of service

These terms cover your use of ChatBundle, provided by Nicholas Johnson, trading as ChatBundle, Campion Drive, Oldham. Questions: help@chatbundle.co.uk.

The service

  • ChatBundle turns a WhatsApp chat export into a page-numbered PDF bundle. AI picks the messages that relate to the issue you describe, and you check the picks before you download.
  • Message text is never changed. The summary is automatic and neutral, and it isn’t a finding.
  • The AI can miss or wrongly pick messages. You’re responsible for checking the bundle.
  • Not legal or HR advice. We don’t recommend outcomes, and we never file, serve or send anything for you. We don’t promise that anyone will accept the bundle.

Using chats

You confirm you’re one of the people in the chat, or acting for someone who is and have their permission. Don’t use the service for chats you have no right to use, to harass anyone, or for anything unlawful.

Prices

  • £19 per bundle: one chat and one issue. For 24 hours after the picks you can change your ticks and download again on the same device.
  • £39 a month for professionals: bundles included up to a fair-use limit of 100 per UK calendar month. Monthly bundles are white-label: they carry only your logo and your client’s name, with no ChatBundle name or logo. The “Not legal or HR advice” line and the page numbers stay. It renews monthly until you cancel from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep the plan until the end of the month you’ve paid for.
  • We’re not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.

Your right to cancel, and refunds

  • Your 14-day right to cancel ends once your bundle is made, because at checkout you ask us to start straight away and accept that you lose the right to cancel: “I want my bundle now and understand I lose my right to cancel once it's made.”
  • If we can’t make your bundle, a Get a refund button appears before anything is delivered.
  • We don’t give “change of mind” refunds once a bundle has been delivered.
  • This doesn’t affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: the bundle must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

Making bundles for clients: data-processing terms

On the monthly plan, if you make bundles from clients’ chats, you’re the controller of the personal data in the chat and we’re your processor. These terms cover what Article 28 UK GDPR requires.

  • What we process: the messages in the date range you choose, your description of the issue and the roles, only while each bundle request runs, to pick the relevant messages, write a neutral summary and build the PDF. This can include special category data or data about children.
  • Your instructions only: we process the data only to make the bundle you ask for, unless the law requires otherwise. If it does, we’ll tell you, unless the law prevents that.
  • Confidential and secure: anyone who works on the service is bound by confidentiality. Chat content is processed in memory and isn’t stored in our database, files, logs or caches. Connections are encrypted.
  • Sub-processors: you authorise Anthropic (AI, United States), Vercel (hosting, London region) and Supabase (database, London region, holding no chat content). We’ll tell you at least 30 days before adding or replacing one, and you can object by cancelling your plan.
  • Helping you: we’ll tell you promptly about any request we receive about your data and help you respond, and help with security, data protection impact assessments and prior consultation.
  • Breaches: we’ll tell you without undue delay, and within 48 hours of becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
  • At the end: no chat content remains after each request. Your business name and logo stay until you remove them or delete your account.
  • Showing compliance: we’ll give you the information you reasonably need to show we meet these terms, and allow audits at your cost on reasonable notice.
  • Your part: you confirm you have a lawful basis, and any permission needed, to use each chat, and that you’ve told the people concerned what they need to know.

Liability

We’re not responsible for how a bundle is used or for the outcome of any dispute. Nothing here limits liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit. If you use the service for business, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may change the service or these terms. If a change affects a bundle you’ve already paid for, the terms at the time you paid apply. We’ll give monthly plan customers at least 30 days’ notice of a price change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
